Brief History of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class
The C-Class was introduced in 1993 to replace the W201 range with the C-Class W202. After seven years, with the turn of the millennium, the next generation was released with the C-Class W203 hitting the market in July 2000.
Another seven years passed and 2007 saw the introduction of the third generation with the C-Class W204 which had a similar design to the high-spec S-Class. Before the release of the next generation, 2011 saw the C-Class get an updated look with changes made to the dashboard and headlights, among other features.
The fourth and most recent generation was then introduced in 2014 with the C-Class W205, the first car to use Modular Rear Architecture.
Which Mercedes-Benz C-Class Should I Buy?
With a number of different trims to choose from, you may be wondering which one is the best for you. Each offers something a little different, with plenty of features to tempt you.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class S
The S trim is the entry level for the C-Class, so this may be a good option for some who are looking for a Mercedes-Benz without the price tag attached. While the features may not be as impressive as other trims, you will still get a fine car - it is a Mercedes-Benz, after all!
Mercedes-Benz C-Class SE
The SE offers a number of features that will enhance your driving experience, from heated seats to a reversing camera. You’ll get a bit more bang for your buck than the S in terms of features, but in terms of performance, there isn’t a huge difference between the two.
What Should I Look For When Financing a Mercedes-Benz C-Class?
Buying a used Mercedes-Benz C-Class car on finance is a great way of getting a great car at a price you can afford. However, when you’re looking for your perfect car, there are things that you should be aware of and make sure to check.
When you go to look at a car, you should carry out checks to make sure that there are no obvious issues that could become problems after you’ve made the purchase. Take a walk around the car and look for any signs of damage or rust on the inside and outside of the vehicle.
You should make sure that you get a chance to take the car for a test drive. This means that you will have the opportunity to listen out for any sounds like rattling that could indicate a bigger problem with the car.
The seller should also have all of the necessary paperwork for the car such as the V5C registration document.
