With one of the highest levels of car ownership in the UK, Birmingham is a Car Town. Back in the late 80s parts of the city were used for Grand Prix-style Street Racing championships – you can still find roads that were widened to accommodate them. You’re literally driving on a race track. We even have a motorway junction that’s an international tourist attraction – where else in the world can say that?
But driving in Birmingham can be a challenge. Some roads haven’t changed since the 19th century (the road outside our office still has cobbles!) and there are more cars than ever using them.
