Is it time for you to get a new car? You’ve come to the right place! The automotive world is in an incredibly exciting place at the moment. Most manufacturers now have an electric or hybrid vehicle which can mean you no longer need to depend on fuel at service stations to get around.
But beyond that, there are affordable options with gadgets galore. There are plenty to choose from including some seriously high-brow vehicles. However, in our list, we’re going to classify ‘best’ and being affordable as well as the most high-tech car out there. Take a look at what we’ve hand-picked as the best new car for release in 2023.
Audi A6 e-tron
Audi have plenty of cars hitting the shelves over the next 3 years, the majority of which have an electric focus. So it’s clear to see where the manufacturer sees the future of their cars. While the Audi A6 e-tron isn’t the first electric car that Audi have produced, we believe it’s going to be the most exciting for 2023.
On sale from early 2023, the price that’s being circulated is £50,000 – we know – not exactly the cheapest car on the market but hear us out. The sleek sport coupe-like design is just the beginning of what we love. It’s what’s on the inside that counts and the 100kWh battery and 0.22cd aerodynamics are rumoured to have a range of up to 430 miles. Something we’re excited to see in action.
BMW i/i5 series
The BMW series cars are always so versatile and come with many options and the i/i5 series is no different. With a release date of mid 2023 and a starting price of £42,000 you’ve got plenty of time to decide which of the following options is the one you want to spend your hard earned money on.
There are ICE, PHEV, and full EV guises to choose from. It’s important to note that we believe this will be one of the most ambitious and advanced generations yet. The full electric model and the combusted-engine version will use the same CLAR platform which has powertrain tech found in other electric BMWs that have a range of around 300 miles.
Fiat Panda
To be honest, this model is topping our list as a favourite because of the incredible price ranges starting from just £22,000. Although you’ll have to wait a little while for this one as it’s due to be released late 2023. This all-electric car is bringing together affordability and sustainability with a little bit of inspiration in design from the Panda of the 80s.
The entire design of this car is so that anybody looking to buy a new car can have access to an electric vehicle. Going green is no longer a commodity for the rich. The brand also has plans for a larger SUV at some point but we think this model is more than suitable for the average family.
Honda Electric SUV
Due to land in late 2023 and slightly more expensive than the Fiat Panda is the Honda Electric. Its starting price is £30,000 so it is still relatively affordable in terms of a brand new vehicle. It’s certainly not completely out of reach. The success of the Honda E is what brought about this expansion of electric vehicles in the SUV range.
The range is slightly less than some other electric cars with it being 200 miles, but we believe that’s reflected in the price. The smooth and simple exterior is balanced well with the high tech interior. The 12.3inch screen and virtual door mirrors are just two of the highlights you can expect to see in this SUV.
Kia EV4
The name of this vehicle is speculated still but its launch is off the back of the success of the Kia EV6. It’s due for release in early 2023 so we’re expecting to hear something more concrete soon, but all you need to know about the car is that it’s the perfect crossover. With the size roughly the same as the Sportage SUV and the Hyundai-Kia Group’s E-GMP architecture. It has a 77.4kWh battery giving it over 300 miles in range. For a starting price of £35,000, we think this is great value for money!
At the top end of the range for the Kia EV4 you can expect to see dual-motor powertrains, although we’re expecting a rear-wheel drive single-motor option too. Considering the 800-volt architecture and 350kWh rapid charging capabilities, what we love about this vehicle is that you can see a 70% charge in as little as 20 minutes.
Mini Countryman
Honestly, we were shocked when we found the starting price for the new generation of Mini Countryman is starting at £28,000. Although we’re uncertain about when during the year we can expect it to hit the market, we’ll definitely be looking out for it. This car will move onto the BMW X1 FAAR platform making it more advanced. Plus, Mini has confirmed that the new Countryman will be offered with combustion engines and fully electric and that the architecture can accommodate a number of power trains.
This Countryman, unlike other releases, is rumoured to have a significant increase in size. Making it one of the largest Mini models out there. It’s said to rival models like the Audi Q3 and Mercedes GLA. For such a fair price and multiple options. We’re expecting this one to fly off the shelves.
Cars to watch out for, due for release in 2024
While we’ve completed our list of cars we’re excited about in 2023, there are of course plenty of others out there. We’re already looking ahead to the future and have compiled a small list of other cars we’re excited to see in the near future (2024).
