Volkswagen has a new entry to the competitive small SUV market in its stylish T-Roc.

VW has been relaunching its SUV range for the past couple of years, and the T-Roc fits in as a bridge between the crossover and small SUV market.

There are five trims for the T-Roc; the S, SE, Design, SEL and R-Line. The S offers 16-inch alloys, 8-inch touchscreen media system and lane assist. The SE adds 17-inch alloys, parking sensors and ‘Car-Net’ smartphone connectivity.

The Design trim provides styling cues such as contrasting roof colours and sports-styled bumpers. The SEL offers 18-inch alloys, sports seats and LED lighting.

The range-topping R-Line adds a sports styling package with 19-inch alloy wheels. This top-spec version competes with the Mini Countryman and sister vehicles from Audi, SEAT and Skoda.

There is a range of petrol and diesel engines with the T-Roc. A 1.0L opens the petrol range which provides enough power for town driving. Petrol engines also include 1.5 and 2.0L. The diesel powerplants are a 1.6L or 2.0L which offer that extra torque for off-roading.
