Used Nissan Juke For Sale On Finance

The Nissan Juke is an eye-catching compact crossover offering a stylish-yet-practical alternative to a small family hatchback.

The Juke’s chunky design and slightly raised ride position gives it the feel of an SUV with more compact dimensions. There’s a good amount of boot space and two sets of ISOFIX anchor points in the back.

Distinctive styling is a key selling point and the Juke offers plenty of personalisation options - including colourful elements for the central console, the doors, and elsewhere in the car.

Nissan’s Juke is available in four trim choices: the entry-level Visia, the Acenta, the Bose Personal Edition, and the Tekna. The Visia comes with a choice of a 1.6L petrol or a 1.5L diesel engine - and a range of petrol and diesel alternatives are on available on higher-spec models.

Among the best choices are the 1.2L petrol offering, ideal for city driving, and the 1.5L diesel - a good option for drivers who make lots of long journeys.

About Nissan Juke

The original Nissan Juke was a bit of a game changer. It came into the small car market and shook things up more than anybody expected. With its raised profile and chunky exterior proving to be surprisingly popular it gave drivers the feel of an SUV but with the practicalities of a smaller compact car. Since its launch it’s inspired imitations from many rivals, like the Renault Captur, Skoda Kamiq and Volkswagen T-Cross.

The high-riding nature of the car made the feel of an SUV much more approachable and affordable for many. Now in its second generation it’s added to this, enhancing the features of the car and making it less of a slightly quirky small car and more of a great all-rounder.

Why Buy a Used Nissan Juke?

The Nissan Juke is far from a slightly odd looking novelty of a compact car though. It’s a fantastic all-rounder and there’s many reasons why a used Nissan Juke could be the perfect car for you. The second generation was launched early in 2020 and while older models may have been popular primarily because of how they looked, the second generation vastly improved on the strong foundations laid by the first.

That’s not to say that the first generation isn’t still a great car though, with its iconic round headlights and high side profile, it’s a fantastic car for anyone looking for a slightly larger compact car. There’s plenty of space in front for two adults, and only particularly tall people having problems sitting in the three back seats. The older generation isn’t the most powerful of cars and it has a habit of bouncing around on bumpy roads.

The second generation has taken the marmite feel of the first generation and turned into a much better car overall. This may mean that a number of the older generation cars may become available fairly cheaply on the used market, so you can turn heads in a more affordable manner.

Brief History of the Nissan Juke

The Nissan Juke was launched in 2010 and the first generation was produced through to 2017. The second generation went into production in 2019 and is expected to be launched in 2020.

First generation (2010-2017):  The Juke was released with a mixed reception in 2010. People either loved it for how it looked, or discounted it for what they saw as its drawbacks in drivability and lack of interior space.

Over the years though it has developed a cult following and as such special editions have been released, like the Ministry of Sound edition in 2012. In 2013 a new engine was released aimed at cutting CO2 emissions.

Second generation (2019-): The first generation ceased production in 2017 and the second generation was announced in 2019. It entered production to begin sales in 2020. The early reception of the second generation has been positive, with many critics feeling it’s greatly improved on the problems the first generation had while maintaining its unique look and feel.

Which Nissan Juka Should I buy?

The Nissan Juke’s variations and trims are relatively straightforward. There are 4 legacy models from the first generation; Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, Nismo RS.

What Should I look for when financing a Nissan Juke?

With the release of the second generation of the Nissan Juke, now’s potentially a great time to look at picking up a used Nissan Juke first generation. There’s a good chance that there’ll be more of them available as people shift to the newer gen, which may help keep costs down.

While this sounds great on paper, there’s a few things you should keep an eye out for if you’re looking for used Nissan Juke deals. As with most cars the Nissan Juke had a number of issues over the course of its lifespan required recalls, including turbo issues that caused stalling, potential fuel leaks airbag replacements and issues with the engine start button. So double check when the car you’re considering buying was built and whether it may fall into any of these recalls.

Another notable issue the car has is with the air-con, as there’s sometimes issues with a pipe severing which could be costly to fix.

Outside of these issues, it’s always worth doing due diligence when buying a used car. Check for any signs of rust, wear & tear and always ask for a test drive so you can see what the car feels and sounds like when you’re driving it.
