Buy the Tesla Model-3 on Finance

If you’re thinking of buying an electric car, you’re almost certainly considering this one. A worldwide best-seller, the Tesla Model 3 is a car with sports car performance, refreshing design, great range and tech that’s as intuitive as it is revolutionary. All of this for just over what you’d originally have paid for a BMW M3.

No wonder it took home all the awards.

Not only does the Model 3 have plenty of space for 5 adults, a class-leading boot and a front “frunk”, the performance variant will haul itself and everything it carries past 60 miles an hour faster than a Mclaren F1. Let that sink in a moment: a 5 door family saloon outpaces a million
dollar hypercar.

Even if you’re not looking at the, frankly bonkers, performance variant, you’ll be hitting 60 under 5 seconds in most trims. You’ll be hitting that speed with the eerie quiet of an electric powertrain and a super-sharp steering rack that – while not the most involving thing ever – plants the nose precisely where it needs to be to shred up and down mountain passes.

The quirks don’t end there, either: the interior is so minimalist that Ikea designers probably want to live there, with the only three physical buttons in the cockpit and a long, unbroken air vent tastefully hidden across the dash. Instrument cluster? Not for this Tesla.

The infotainment system contains video games, easter eggs and a digital whoopie cushion. You can persuade its pedestrian warning speaker to torture passing children with ice-cream van chimes. And, just to top it off, Tesla’s almost-self-driving-but-not-really Autopilot system is standard equipment across the range.

In short: it’s the best electric car on sale. It’s one of the best cars on sale.

Tesla try to keep trims simple with the Model 3. You’ll find a Standard Rear Wheel Drive (now just the “Rear Wheel Drive”), a Long Range and a Performance, the latter two being all wheel drive. Beyond that, it’s a matter of interior and exterior colours and whether the previous owner bought the Self Driving package or not.

Standard range RWD

The model that’ll take you furthest. The standard car might not have all the headline grabbing speed (though it’s no slouch at a smidge over 5 seconds to 60mph!) but it’s the one that’ll take you furthest on a charge. And with rear wheel drive, it’ll do it with a lot of character.

Long Range AWD

Does exactly what it says on the tin: pops another motor on the front axle for all wheel drive. The advantage of an electric AWD system is that the traction of all wheels is digital so it responds instantly in a way that internal combustion cars can’t.

Performance

Beef up that rear motor and swap in a more powerful fuse or two and you get a car that’ll hit 60 in just over 3 seconds. That’s faster than a McLaren F1, ladies and gents. It’s AWD so traction remains solid and there’s even a track mode for slinging it around private circuits, if you’ve money to replace the tyres.

Tesla’s Mid-Size Saloon car, the Model 3 is a compact family car,… that can outgun a Lambo. With plenty of space for 5 adults, it’s practical too. Despite its traditional boot opening, the boot itself is wide and deep, and you’ll find plenty more space under the bonnet.

Take a seat and you’ll be amazed at the simplicity. Even the traditional gauge cluster has been removed, giving a scandinavian level of space and an amazing view out the front.

Brief History of the Tesla Model-3

Tesla’s Ford Model T moment, the Model 3 was pitched as the Electric Car for everyman. Now, while it didn’t come in at the $30k base price they’d originally promised, Tesla have sold a LOT of Model 3’s. So many, in fact, that it topped UK sales charts three times in 2021.

Tesla first launched the Model 3 back in 2017 but it was a whole year before they hit our shores. It didn’t take the Model 3 long to start breaking records, however, being the first electric car to pass a million sales, back in 2020.

If you’re new to Electric Cars, nobody makes the transition easier than Tesla. Not only do the run the best recharging network but their infotainment system will route you to every charge
stop on your journey automatically.

With a Model 3 you’ll also be looking at a car that’s fast, nimble and great fun to drive. Floor the right peddle and you’ll still be looking at over 200 miles on a charge, even in the worst weather.

Model 3s, like many electric cars, retain their value extremely well. So well, in fact, that you should get a pretty good PCP deal, as it’s likely that the car will still be worth a penny or two when you hand it back or buy the final chunk.

Finding your Perfect Tesl Model 3 is just part of the journey: buying or leasing it with great-value car finance? That’s the cherry on the cake.

ChooseMyCar.com’s fantastic range of Car Finance options can help you to drive away with the Tesla you’ve always wanted for much less than you ever expected to pay – even if you’ve had problems getting credit in the past.

While the up front cost might seem steep, even on the used market, it’s not actually much more than a BMW 3 Series with an M badge. But it’s much, much cheaper to run, and this brings the price way down compared to its peers.

Tesla warranties their batteries for 8 years or 100,000 miles. In reality, there’s no reason to expect them to have serious problems in the lifetime of the car. Indeed, a stated goal at Tesla is to have a battery that lasts 100,000,000 miles.

For older Model S and X cars, Tesla Supercharging remains free. For the Model 3, however, Tesla never sold a unit with lifetime free supercharging. Prices are a little under the average rapid charging price per KWh, compared to rival networks, however.

Let’s be clear: this is extremely unlikely. Not only does the Model 3 have an average of 235 miles of range but it’ll route you to chargers automatically.

If it does happen, however, the car will warn you you’re getting low, cut your acceleration and eventually stop driving and apply the parking brake. The interior electronics and controls will last many hours more, however.

There’s no theoretical limit to how long a Model 3 can sit safely without charging. There is a known phenomenon called “vampire drain” where internal bobbins tick over to keep an eye on the vehicle and slowly drain the battery. According to some tests, this may be around 5% a fortnight.
