Although late to the competitive mini-SUV market, Mazda has delivered a stunning, well-equipped potential winner.
The crossover segment has been ruled mainly by Renault’s Captur, but Mazda’s CX-3 offers lots of technology as standard. This includes a 7-inch touchscreen, sat-nav and app integration.
There are three trim levels with the CX-3; SE Nav+, SE-L Nav+ and Sport Nav+. The SE offers 16-inch alloys, DAB radio, multimedia commander and Bluetooth. The SE-L adds automatic wipers and lights, heated front seats, rear parking sensors and rear privacy glass.
The Sport tops the range with 18-inch alloys and LED headlights. It also adds to the equipment with a reversing camera, active driving display and a Bose sound system.
There are petrol and diesel engines with the CX-3, but the 1.8L diesel is only available on the Sport model. The petrol engines are all 2.0L and provide strong performance. The more powerful petrol is reserved for the Sport in all-wheel-drive.
