Learn more about Ssangyong
It’s a brand that’s left many confused by its name and even more so by its styling, but SsangYong is my than a Korean byword for ‘cheap’.
The brand, owned by Indian giant Mahindra, has a broad range of five cars that are mostly for the current crossover SUV trend in the UK. Some left-field names and designs aside, most a packed with equipment at a low cost.
Generous equipment, steady performance and distinctive looks are offered across the range. At comparably low prices, you could argue SsangYong is South Korea’s version of Dacia, though not as cheap.
The Tivoli is the entry-level model and has improved over time with its styling, as has the whole brand. What was once more of a hatchback is now in the crossover market, one of many.
The Turismo provides plenty of space for seven passengers in a large MPV while the mid-sized Korando SUV will have an all-new version for 2019. There’s a car for every family size on a moderate budget.
For families: Tivoli, Tivoli XLV, Rexton, Turismo,
