The very first all-electric gran coupe has come courtesy of BMW. Being a gran coupe means the BMW i4 has all the sports-like feel of a coupe as well as benefitting from extra space, especially in the back seat. The i4 could be seen as an all-electric remodel of BMW’s Series 4 Gran Coupe – it essentially is a 4 Series with batteries – but that’s no bad thing.

It’s a touch heavier but no less fun. Indeed, with the shove of all-electric torque, it’s far faster than the 4 series when it comes to firing the car to 30mph. It’s also quieter and far more refined, with a plush ride that turns super-sporty at the flick of a switch.
