Learn more about the Skoda Citigo iV

The Skoda Citigo iV is the electric version of the standard Citigo and is extremely popular amongst Skoda lovers – for very good reason. Known for being one of the very best city cars on the road, its small package makes it extremely easy to park wherever you go without having to worry about searching for a bigger space. It also makes it go-kart fun when zipping through inner city traffic.

The electric motor gives the little Citigo more punch out of the lights than its petrol stablemate, yoiking it to 30 in almost no time, and it’ll happily handle a little motorways driving, if you want to take it a bit further afield.

Its sparce, no-nonsense interior has a charm to it that you wouldn’t expect, with the minimal tech and clutter harking back to years gone by in a perfectly fun way and enhancing that go- kart feel. But if you need a few mod cons, you can plug a smartphone into a special dock on the dash and use that for all your infotainment needs.

The Skoda Citigo only came in one flavour, with a few extras in a special pack: what you get is entirely what you get. No frills, no fuss.

Skoda CItigo iV SE

This base trim level comes with the added feature of climate control, allowing you to select the temperature you require of the car’s interior and alter the air entering your vehicle accordingly. It also has an added three-spoke leather steering wheel, DAB radio and remote locking, offering a few extra features whilst also keeping it at an affordable price.

Skoda CItigo iV SE L

By upgrading to the SE L, the second trim option, the added features include 16-inch alloy wheels, ambient lighting, heated seats, parking sensors in the rear, and body coloured mirrors and door trims. To make the car more efficient, it also comes with the ability to rapidly charge, which will come in handy when driving long distances as it can accept a charging rate of up to 40kW, making it last longer on the road.

Launched in 2019, The Skoda Citigo iV became well known for its title as Skoda’s first fully electric car. With its 61kW electric motor and lithium-ion battery, it takes only one hour to charge to almost 100% and can reach up to 160 miles when out on the road with a full battery.

It has a simple design that’s easy enough for drivers to get their heads around – the dashboard is straightforward and the dials in front of the steering wheel are simple to read.

Brief History of the Skoda Citigo iV

The Skoda Citigo iV is a compact vehicle that was first introduced in 2019 as Skoda’s firstfully electric car. Based on the VW’s e-Up, itself a wildly popular EV, the Citigo iV .

The Skoda Citigo iV is a great choice for any driver looking to purchase a compact electric runaround for day-to-day city driving. As a fun, no-frills, refreshingly honest small car, it’s pretty much unmatched.

Being small also makes it very efficient – going up to 160 miles between charges. It’s also very affordable indeed, meaning this, along with its VW and SEAT variants, is possibly the best-value electric car on sale today.

In terms of its performance on the road, do not be fooled by the Skoda Citigo EV’s small size as it can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 12.3 seconds, with its compact style making it feel even quicker.

The most important thing to think about is whether you’re looking for a budget model that offers you all the basics or are happy to pay more for added features such as rapid charging. Whilst the SE will give you all the features you need, if you are going to do a lot of long-distance driving, the SE L trim option may be the better option.

The Skoda Citigo iV comes with an almost identical interior to the original Skoda with a simple dashboard where all buttons and controls can be found in the centre of the car, making them easy to reach throughout your journeys. As for the design of the seats, they are a standard grey trim but can be fitted with a two-tone fabric instead if you were hoping to add a splash of colour.

According to Skoda, the Citigo iV can travel 160 miles between charges if you’re driving at an average speed. This is a lot more than models such as the Honda e but remains a bit behind the Peugeot e-208.

The Skoda Citigo iV is a fully electric vehicle with a maximum power of 61kW. It has a battery pack capacity of 36.8 kWh and a maximum charging power of 7.2 kW.

Since the model does not have any extra functions and materials inside, drivers are sometimes disappointed with its standard interior. For example, the dashboard, door trims and centre console are all made from the same hard, scratchy material and have body-coloured metal trims on the doors.

In the past, some owners have also reported experiencing problems with the charging cable, but this can be handled with your dealership.
