The Premier League of Electric Cars 2022/23

After the electrifying final day title race in the Premier League, we take a look ahead to next season, and match Premier League clubs to suitable electric cars.

Taking a look at some of the teams, Liverpool have been matched with the American Ford Mustang due to their ownership of Fenway Sports Group. Uber favourite the Nissan Leaf was matched to Man United, due to their global fan base.

Arsenal no longer have the Va Va Voom so have been matched with the Renault Zoe. Aston Villa, with its rich history, has been matched with British icon MINI.

Looking at the promoted teams this season, Nottingham Forest have been matched with the BMW i4. It looks like a classic 3 Series, so with Forrest and the 3 series ruling Europe in the 1980s, it looks like a good match. Bournemouth have been matched with a Smart ForTwo, and Fulham with a Kia Niro.

Champions of the Premier League, Man City, have been matched with a Ferrari SF90 Stradale due to its performance, as it does have an electric option but drives better with fuel.

Thanks to their takeover and likely investment, Polestar was matched with Newcastle United. Not much to shout about at the moment with success but could be a worldwide superstar within a few years with huge investment.

The founder of ChooseMyCar.com, Nick Zapolski, commented: “Twenty electric cars to celebrate the electrifying moments created by the beautiful game of football. We’re not sure we’ll see many Premier League players driving these cars to training instead of their supercars!

“We’re experts in car finance, but it’s fair to say big summer transfers such as Haaland, with a weekly salary of over £300,000, won’t need to take out any finance to buy these cars. In fact, he could buy every car in our league within a couple of weeks!”
