The Audi’s A1 Sportback supermini is a premium hatchback offering a smooth and refined ride. Comfortable, roomy and practically laid out, the Audi A1 makes for a stylish small family car that is great to drive both in the city and on road trips.

Available in six trim levels, the A1 Sport is among the most popular choices in the range with 16-inch alloys, cruise control and more. All models have a good safety rating and ISOFIX points in the front passenger seat and the rear.

Entry level SE models, meanwhile, are kitted out with electric windows, 15-inch alloys, automatic lights and wipers, and an infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. You’ll have to go up a trim level for a sat-nav, though.

The car’s interior is well laid out and easy to use whichever trim level you choose, with plenty of handy cubby holes. There’s a decent amount of room in the cabin and ample boot space, too, while all models have a good safety rating and ISOFIX points in the front passenger seat and the rear..

A range of petrol engines are available with the A1, with the 1.0L option being cheap to run and ideal for town driving. The 1.5L alternative also offers decent fuel economy but with a touch more speed.
