The Fiat Punto is a cheap-to-run supermini that’s priced competitively and scores well on fuel efficiency.
Small-looking, yet deceptively spacious inside, the Fiat Punto was discontinued in 2018. Available as a three or five-door model, what started out life as the Punto was renamed the Grande Punto in 2005. It then became the Punto Evo in 2009, returning to the standalone Punto name in 2012.
The Punto’s trim levels comprise the Pop+ and Easy+, with entry-level models coming with air conditioning, 15-inch alloys, a CD player, and MP3 connectivity. The Easy+ adds bigger wheels, climate control, a leather steering wheel, sat-nav and front fog lights.
Engine options include one 1.2L petrol and a few 1.4L alternatives, as well as a couple of 1.3L diesels.
The Fiat Punto is best suited to town driving, where it’s easy to steer and park thanks to its 4.1m-long chassis. There are plenty of handy cubbyholes in the Punto and enough room in the rear to comfortably seat two adults.
