Learn more about the Audi Q4 e-tron

The first Audi to be built on Volkswagen’s MEB electric car platform, the Q4 e-tron benefits from many of the advances that its parent company made when developing their electric cars. Lighter and more efficient than the standard e-tron SUV, the Q4 feels more agile and better packaged than its older sister.

While it’s built on the same platform as the Skoda Enyaq and the ID.4, you wouldn’t know it. Audi’s interior refinement and level of luxury really make it feel like a step up from its siblings, with an impeccable choice of materials cosseting you and your passengers.

The exterior of the vehicle is just as well designed and thought out as the capacious interior, with the trademark Audi grille and a strong, cliff-faced nose. It’s chiselled, powerful and smart looking, something made complete with large alloy wheels and LED headlights.

There is a range of different trim levels depending on your preference while the Audi Drive Select means you can set a host of vehicle characteristics through five different modes. This is a model designed to make your drive as personable and comfortable to you as can be.

Distinctive, spacious and impressive it’s a model that won’t let you down.

Due to being relatively new to the market, there aren’t a great host of used Audi Q4 e-tron models about, so if you see one be sure to snap it up while you can. The different spec and trim levels affect the price and what you get with your model.

Sport

The sport trim includes the Sport 35 e-tron, Sport 40 e-tron and Sport 50 e-tron. The sport is the entry-level trim but is still packed with a host of interesting features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, three-zone climate control and a 10.1-inch touch screen infotainment system.

S-Line

The S-Line is the upgraded model from the Sport trim. This includes a sports suspension that lowers the body by 15mm, an upgraded interior, additional chrome elements and more choice when it comes to interior materials.

Edition 1

There are two main Edition models, both called the Edition 1. They come in two body variants – one in geyser blue and the other in typhoon grey. Matrix LED headlights and rear lights are darker, the alloy wheels measure 21 inches and are finished in bronze.

The Audi Q4 e-tron is the first compact electric SUV from Audi and as with all things they do, it’s been done properly and designed to impress.

Not to be confused with the, confusingly similar-sounding e-Tron or e-Tron GT, the Q4 e-tron is a more mass-market-friendly package, both in size and cost. It’s not a bulky as the e- Tron SUV or as sporty as the GT: it’s an everyday car for people who like every day, electric luxury.

Brief History of the Audi Q4 e-tron

The Audi Q4 e-tron is the fourth fully electric model in the Audi e-tron series and was launched in the latter part of 2021. The model is based on Volkswagen Group’s electric MEB and is an example of an excellent transition into the world of electric vehicles.

The first Audi e-tron was introduced back in 2009, as a big, heavy, luxury SUV. Later followed by a “Sportback” variant and then the e-Tron GT, which used the same underpinnings as the Porsche Taycan. This was the first of the group’s cars to share tech from VW itself, however.

For drivers who who want a little understated elegance in their electric crossovers, the Q4 e-tron is the car that hits all the right notes. There’s a comforting quality to everything that whispers “luxury” rather than shouting it. An everyday luxury that makes you smile every time you sit inside.

If you want an EV that’s not ostentatious but still makes you feel special, this is the car for you.

When it comes to financing the Audi Q4 e-tron you want to think about the value of the vehicle and how it might change over time. Electric vehicles are a great option particularly in a time when fuel is more expensive than ever. If you opt for a higher spec vehicle it is also likely to depreciate less so it can be a good idea to opt for a PCP agreement. Financing is worth it for newer models such as the Audi Q4 e-tron which is why it can be a great deal for this vehicle. Consider what you can comfortably pay each month and the sort of trim you want as the prices can differ.

There aren’t too many problems with the Audi Q4 e-tron as it is a new model. However, some of the more frequently stated issues include interior controls that are fiddly and touch-sensitive and the Audi phone application not always working as it should.

While the vehicle is still too new to have a plethora of reliability data, it did gain a five- star Euro NCAP crash-test reult and is proud to boast fewer parts and therefore less servicing required. This should mean it is a vehicle that is known for being reliable going forward.

The best motor depends on what you’re after from the car. The dual-motor Quattro 50 can accelerate from being still to 62mph in 6.2 seconds, while the Audi e-tron S line 55 Quattro has a maximum range of 252 miles making it ideal for long journeys.

The Audi Q4 e-tron comes with a standard three-year/60,000-mile warranty. The coverage of the battery however is 100,000 miles/ eight years. You can also speak to your dealer to see if this can be extended.
